We are updating our Bylaws

Hi everyone,

We are using our forum to discuss possible changes to our bylaws. We would like to open this thread to discuss any suggestions. We will compile the discussion points and present them to the group to be voted on. The current bylaws can be found on the "About" tab under "Who We Are." Or in the "Member Area" tab in subtab "Member's Media and Content."

    I also believe that the bylaws should clarify the process for voting, including setting a quorum for votes to be binding and laying out the process by which we run the elections.

      The quorum would prevent voting on important issues when most of the members are not present.

    I have heard concerns from some members about expanding the classes of members allowed to vote on items a through f of Article II-3. Perhaps a good compromise would be to revise Class B Membership, as defined in Article II-1, b, to include a full-time employee of a non-governmental entity contracted by a governmental unit or agency to perform tasks, such as inspection or plan review, for the enforcement or administration of laws and ordinances relating to building construction.

      Personally, I am open to expanding the classes of members allowed to vote on items a through f of Article II-3 to all current members of the chapter.
